One-On-One In-Home Tutors
Choose a professional in-home tutor that best suits your needs. Our certified tutors will conduct all lessons from the comfort of your own home. Your personalized tutor will construct a custom, one-on-one tutoring program or help with homework, a specific assignment, or a test. (Read more).

Tutors on Call offers 12 – 16 week in-home tutoring programs that target a specific skill. Each lesson is based on giving the student the skills to complete typical assignments from the Canadian classroom. The marks are based on the B.C. grade level expectations so that way you will know exactly how your child is doing according to provincial guidelines. At the end of each month we provide you with a detailed Monthly Progress Report on what was taught that month, your child’s progress and assignment / test marks. All of our teachers are certified to teach in all public and private schools in British Columbia so they are well-equipped with the knowledge and expertise to help your child excel in the Canadian classroom.
- Our Teachers: At Tutors on Call all of our tutors have completed the Teacher’s Training Program and are certified by the BC College of Teachers. They have both tutoring and classroom experience. Due to their qualifications, they know what is expected in the Canadian classroom and what the student needs to know in order to increase their marks. Our tutors in Vancouver, Burnaby, Richmond, Coquitlam, West Vancouver, North Vancouver, Port Moody, Delta, Maple Ridge, Langley, Surrey, White Rock, New Westminster, Kitsilano, Point Grey, Kerrisdale, Dunbar, UBC, Chilliwack, Abbotsford and all other areas of the GVRD will come directly to your home. We take our time in hiring only the best tutors who are friendly, enthusiastic, professional and experienced.
- Skill-based Programs: We recognize that each student has specific strengths and areas for improvement. Our skill-based programs focus on the areas that need the most improvement so that way the student will see results faster. By learning one skill at a time, such as writing essays or vocabulary, the student will be able to focus and master each skill more efficiently. Each skill builds upon one another enabling the student to be confident and apply previous knowledge to future assignments.
- Monthly Progress Reports: We understand that it is important for you to know how your child is doing in their studies. At Tutors on Call we track the student’s progress on a Monthly Progress Report which is given to you at the first class of each month. This report will tell you what the tutor has taught the student that month, how the student is doing in the lessons and all the marks for their assignments and tests during that month. By receiving the Monthly Progress Reports you will know exactly what needs to be done in order to help the student improve their marks and excel in their studies.
- Student’s Assessment: One of our Education Consultants will come to your home for a free consultation. At this time we will assess your child’s level by viewing their report card and their assessment test. Both of these documents will then be emailed to the tutor that you choose.

Tutoring Programs
English
Our in-home tutoring English Program follows a predetermined structure,
and allows the student to move through various levels and master essential skills. This
in-home tutoring program is for students already in the regular Canadian classroom.
Reading
Reading is the key to your child's academic success. It affects their vocabulary, grammar, sentence structure, creativity, idea development and written organization.
Our in-home tutoring for reading skills include critical thinking, vocabulary, summaries, discussion questions and novel reports.
Writing
Your child is expected to write different
types of assignments in the Canadian classroom. Our in-home tutoring
programs Writing are designed to give our students the skills to excel
in all written assignments and the confidence to apply these skils in
school.
Language Instruction
Knowing a second language can greatly improve not only your child's academic success but increase their future job opportunities. We offer
in-home tutoring programs in three widespread languages.
English as a Second Language (ESL)
Our ESL in-home tutoring programs target reading, writing, speaking and listening. The student can choose between focusing on a specific skill or doing an intensive English program. Since all of the
tutoring lessons are customized to the student’s needs, we offer our programs to students of all levels and ages.
Exam Preparation
